October Update

Makenna is now 11 months old. We will celebrate her first year next month, yikes! She is still army-crawling. Refusing to move up on her hands and knees, but very capable of doing so. She pulls herself up on everything and loves to stand and walk along the couches. She is signing a lot more frequently and has added a few words to her signing vocabulary. It is crazy to me that she can communicate at such a young age, it is amazing! She kisses and hugs freely, and actually blows kisses to people. She loves to wave at everyone in the grocery store, and she can bark like a dog when asked "what does a doggie say?" Below are a few pictures from our pumpkin patch visit and a few random shots from the past month. Oh yes, and Makenna made the switch to a front facing carseat this month. She made a lot of screeching sounds as she road forward for the first time. It was so funny.

Aunt Heather Playing with Makenna

Kyle and Heather babysat Makenna while we went out on a much needed date for our anniversary. Heather can interact with Makenna like no one else can and Kyle caught it on his phone camera. She had never reacted this way before and hasn't since! It is adorable. Thanks Kyle for catching it for us. :)

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE!!!

Makenna is now almost 10 months old. Wow how time flies! We just calendared the date for her first birthday party...INSANE! She is waving, clapping, bouncing (she bobbs up and down in place), clicking her tongue, signing milk, all-finished, and blowing a kiss, AND still smiling up a storm. She still is not "crawling" but is mobile! Basically she army-crawls with her legs and arms pulling herself along the floor. She also often wiggles and rolls her way around a room. She is sleeping 12 hours at night and naps about 4 hours a day. She is growing up fast!

Here are some high lights and low lights over the last few months...
Makenna went to the SF Zoo with Mommy, Daddy, the Pozzi girls, and Grandma Esther.

Makenna had her first round of the flu. She woke up about an hour after she went to sleep and had thrown up all over her crib, blankets, pajamas, and carpet. You would have thought that she was pretty miserable until we put her into the sink to wash her up. She was splashing, laughing, and smiling in the water. Daddy played with her and cleaned her up while I cleaned up the barf...not really a fair trade...

Drew and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary in August. Unfortunately Drew was at a leadership seminar all day, so Makenna and I met him up at Church on the Hill for a picnic lunch. It was beautiful! The church grounds overlooked the whole city.

In the month of August we had two weddings. Drew performed his first wedding. Makenna had her first overnight with Grammy and Bampa. We also had Will and Jenny's wedding. It was Makenna's first wedding, she looked adorable. I have no pictures to show for it yet...soon enough though. Grandma Wanda and Auntie Monica came down from Washington and Idaho for the wedding. We were able to have lunch together and throw Makenna in the pool for the first time all summer! There was a slight breeze and mommy didn't let the water warm in the sun so needless to say it was a little chilly. With her teeth chattering and lips blue she played and splashed without a care in the world. Surprise, surprise she loved it!
She will be 10 months old on Friday! Holy Cow!!!!!

Hat Fun

While we were in Disneyland we put Makenna through the torturous fun of placing several hats on her head, laughing hysterically, and then snapping a photo instead of buying each one. You can tell from the expression she makes in nearly every picture she is completely amused :)

Eeyore

Bride Ears

This is Makenna's Bob Marley stoned pose.
Cowgirl
Davey Crocket...my favorite I think.
Minne Ears
Tigger
Not a hat but so funny!

Disneyland

Drew, myself, Makenna, Grammy, and Bampa just returned from a trip to Disneyland this past week. Makenna came along (she was free admission) and was surprisingly allowed to ride many of the rides. She was indifferent about most of them except for four. She wiggled and oooo'ed at Small World, Monsters Inc, and the new Toy Story 4D ride. She cried quite a bit during the Finding Nemo ride (I had forgotten how loud it was) and als briefly cried during the cannon scene in Pirates of the Carribean.
Grammy and Bampa entertained her during one of the long waits.

Makenna walked all the way back to the hotel on Daddy's sholders. She kept licking his hair and resting her head on the back of his head...adorable.
All sunscreened up and ready for another day at the park!
She loves her Bampa! So many kisses!!

This was on the way back to the hotel on a different night. She was trying to keep her eyes open but had a lot of trouble. What a trooper!
Grammy and Bampa bought this tigger for her. It is the silliest looking thing I've ever seen, but she loves it. Go figure.
Jenny and Ryan Ingram invited us to eat at Club 33 with them while were enjoying the park too. (Ryan is Drew's boss.) Club 33 is this secret club that Walt designed to entertain his high-end guests. It is very fancy and fun. Not many people know about it, let alone get to go inside. We all felt very special. Including Makenna, I'm sure. It has a glass elevator where you ride up and the matre'd is waiting for you to take your party to their table. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Here we are waiting to ride either Pirates or the Haunted Mansion (I can't remember which one).

Long overdue update!

Well it has been far too long since I have written an update about my beautiful daughter. She is now six months old and has accomplished quite a lot. Not only is she sleeping 10-11 hours at night (wohoo!) she is also beginning to eat flavored foods (such as pureed carrots and sweet potatoes). She still won't take a bottle! Last month her two bottom teeth popped out.

She is also able to roll from her back onto her tummy with little effort, and just today in fact rolled from her tummy onto her back without tears of frustration. She is able to sit up with a little support and stand on her strong legs with a little support too. She loves to be tossed high in the air and usually ends up with a big smile on her face. She still maintians her easy-going demeanor.

Just Some Fun Pictures

What a cutie!
Makenna goes to several of Drew's soccer games. It was time to invest in a pair of "cool girl" sunglasses.
She looks like she is in control of the TV. What a stinker!
Yay! Finally a pic with Mommy! I am usually the one taking these... oh wait I took this one too.
